Crossing South review of Baja Blues Fest

Rosarito Beach, Baja California (August 2018) -On August 17,18, and 19 the Baja Blues Fest Organization, a Non-Profit 501(C)3 Corporation benefiting children’s charities, pulled off another annual concert on the beach just 20 minutes south of the border.  Travel show host Jorge Meraz was there to cover the amazing fundraiser event for the KPBS travel show Crossing South.

Crossing South is a travel show which explores Tijuana and Northern Baja. Bilingual travel companion and host, Jorge Meraz, takes the audience on a journey and de-mystifies the area. Get to know the people, vernacular, foods, customs and places frequented by the locals. To find these travel treasures, Jorge goes further than the tourist traps. There’s a lot to learn and fun to have right next door by Crossing South.  Available on Apple TV and Roku.

This year’s musical event produced, by Tom Stewart and hosted by the Backwater Blues Band, featured Anthony GomesBayou BrothersGregg Wright, and Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band.

Baja Blues Fest Organization’s mission is to raise funds and assist in fundraisers for the wellbeing and education of Baja Children while promoting Baja California Norte as a safe and fun place to visit while bringing the residents from the northern and to the southern boundaries of our Rosarito Municipalities together, sharing our efforts, ideas and events.
