SAN DIEGO (May 28) – The Holla Pointe gave an outstanding performance Sunday night at Navajo Live for the release of their first full-length CD ‘Pass This Way.’
It was a magical night for band founders Jimmy Zollo and Karl Cabbage who have been writing the songs for this recording ever since they first met more than seven years ago. The addition of bass player Bobby Abarca and drummer Jimmy Sena seemed to have sparked a fresh fire on the stage as they blew everybody away with new energy and lots of soul.
Many friends and fans packed the club in La Mesa including Jimmy’s brother and Dirty Puppets bass player Drew Zollo. Drew was there with Dirty Puppets front-woman Lucky Bailey. Also in attendance were, Boogie Magazine founders, Mark Eppler, Nick Abadilla and Eli Medellin as well as Larry Teves of Chickenbone Slim and the Biscuits.
It was an unforgettable evening.
The band is currently working on their next recording due to be released sometime before the end of this year. You don’t want to miss that party.
